Council Commissioner Meeting

Description:
Council Commissioners will meet with the Area Commissioner for a multi-faceted session covering a variety of relevant topics. All Council Commissioners are encouraged to attend.

Arrows, Eagles & Summits: Advancement Above & Beyond

Description:
When talking about advancement, we immediately think about Cub Scout crossovers or older Scouts "Eagling out." These traditional advancement paths are a foundation of a good program...if the scouts are learning and having fun, they'll be advancing! If this is true, we should have a quality conversation about resources available for Scouters interested in working with Scouts at the pack, troop, district, and council level. There are other recognition awards available for the different members of our Scouting family that don't follow the 'traditional' advancement guidelines...these also serve as markers of quality program being offered. This session will cover these opportunities as well the traditonal advancement awards!

Description:
Council Presidents meet with the Area President for a multi-faceted session covering a variety of relevant topics. All Council Presidents are encouraged to attend.

Commissioner Service to the Unit

Description:
This will cover the Unit Commissioner responsibilites and their importance to the Unit. Learn the importance of the relationship between the Commissioner, the local Council and Scouting Units in order to keep assigned Units at maximum efficiency. This session covers the essential information needed for optimal Unit productivity.

BSA Council/District Training Workshop

Description:
Focusing on the Fundamentals of Training. In this session you will learn the BSA Team Based Learning Model of Training for Youth and Volunteers. Upon completion of the session, new trainers will be able to apply the techniques they have learned across the BSA's leadership development programs, from unit level youth leader training taught by youth for youth, to position-specific and supplemental training for adult leaders.

Sustaining strong membership in a unit depends not only on having new members join the unit, but also on engaging youth and their families in the unit experiences so that they feel Welcomed and want to stay. The role of the New Member Coordinator is to ensure that both keys to success take place.

Ohio State Fair Program

Description:
This session will discuss how Councils, Districts or Units can highlight their programs by participating at the BSA booth during the 10 day run of the fair. This is your chance to promote your area of Ohio, your camps and perhaps recruit new scouts but above all to have fun. Members of the State Fair Committee will be available to answer your questions. Let's let the people of Ohio know that Scouting is alive and thriving...the sky is the limit.

CBSA Aquatics Forum: Body Checks to Blobs

Description:
This session is a great resource for aquatics directors, camping volunteers and council event/training coordinators. Due to the constant changes to programs and policies, this session will get you up to date on everything going on in the world of BSA Aquatics. You will learn where to look for information on aquatics activities on all levels, as well as different aquatics programs that may interest your Council or Camp.

The Importance of World Scouting and the 2019 World Scout Jamboree

Description:
This session will update attendees on the role of BSA in the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and some of the ways in which WOSM is working around the world. We will also discuss the upcoming 2019 World Scout Jamboree, hosted by the US, Canada, and Mexico, including basic plans for programs, current plans for staffing, and selection of contingent leadership from Area 4.
